“Inside the Alternative Health Revolution: The Living Matrix” movie explores a new science of healing. It asserts that we all have the ability to control our own healing processes through thought, intention and emotions, and that quanta (almostly infinitely small particles that make up the Universe) respond to our every movement and expression. Trailer below…
More from their press release:
This movie gives an “up-close look at the science of information as medicine.” Leading doctors, medical experts and researchers as well as health practitioners share their discoveries on the “miracle cures” traditional medicine can’t explain.
“”The Living Matrix” mixes new science, recovery stories, and 3D motion graphics to take the provocative discussion of quantum physics, energy fields, and consciousness and apply it to health and healing.
It is the first documentary film to bring together academic and independent researchers, practitioners, and science journalists whose work reveals scientific evidence that energy and information fields, not genetics, control health and wellbeing.
These include internationally known healer, Dr. Eric Pearl; cellular biologist and former Stanford University professor Dr. Bruce Lipton; author Lynne McTaggart, and former U.S. astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell, among others.
Through in-person interviews and dramatized video vignettes that document the stories of people who recovered from chronic illness – including a five-year-old boy born with cerebral palsy, an osteopathic doctor with a brain tumor, and a housewife bedridden with chronic fatigue syndrome – the film demonstrates the effectiveness of bioenergetic medicine where traditional medicine has not succeeded.”
As we think, we create energy fields around us. These energy fields and frequencies can be used by each of us to heal ourselves or affect our environment, that we have the power within each of us to be “transcendent” over more traditional methods of healing.
If so, we here at AHC also believe if this pertains to humans, it must also pertain to all living creatures – both human and animal. Pets have been shown to provide enormous health benefits to their owners, relieving stress, restorative with their unconditional love and grace.
It is true that all living creatures and vegetable matter emit and receive freqencies. We are all a collection of energy, little globules of light and spark that coalesce together and separately in the dance of life.
Do we all truly affect each other with our thoughts, emotions and freqency “emissions?” One would presume, absolutely yes, while other scientists will pooh-pooh the idea. Nevertheless, we’ve all felt a gaze from across the room or felt a seemingly inexplicable sixth sense.
This movie delves into these uncharted waters of alternative healing, the power of intentions, thoughts emotions with real world research and actual examples of healing.

Rollin McCraty, Ph.D. is the Executive Vice President and Director of Research at the Institute of HeartMath, and has been with the organization since its inception in 1991. He worked with founder Doc Childre to formulate the research goals of the organization and create its Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. McCraty is a Fellow of the American Institute of Stress, a Visiting Senior Scholar at Claremont Graduate University, and a Visiting Professor at University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has co-authored and published numerous research papers.

Australian native Peter Fraser is a former professor of acupuncture and an expert in traditional Chinese medicine. His journey into independent research was fueled by his long struggle with chronic fatigue syndrome. Through his investigations, Peter Fraser discovered a way to directly address the energetic human body field as a means of promoting healing. He applied what he learned and regained his health.

For three decades, scientist and anthropologist Marilyn Mandala Schlitz, Ph.D. has pioneered clinical and field-based research in the area of human transformation and healing. She is a thought leader on matters of individual and social change whose respected voice offers new insights into the most pressing challenges of our time. A researcher, speaker, change consultant, and writer, Marilyn’s books include: Living Deeply: The Art and Science of Transformation in Everyday Life and Consciousness and Healing: Integral Approaches to Mind Body Medicine. She serves as the CEO and President of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, where she has worked for 15 years.

Professor Jim Oschman is the author of a ground-breaking series of articles on “healing energy” published in the Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies. These articles have now been developed into two books, Energy Medicine: The Scientific Basis and Energy Medicine in Therapeutics and Human Performance. These two books give the most skeptical academic scientists a theoretical basis for exploring the physiology and biophysics of energy medicines. Dr. Oschman has both the academic credentials and the background in alternative therapies to carry out his explorations.

In 1982, Dr. Lipton began examining the principles of quantum physics and how they might be integrated into his understanding of the cell’s information processing systems. He produced breakthrough studies on the cell membrane, which revealed that this outer layer of the cell was an organic homologue of a computer chip, the cell’s equivalent of a brain. His research at Stanford University’s School of Medicine, between 1987 and 1992, revealed that the environment, operating though the membrane, controlled the behavior and physiology of the cell, turning genes on and off. His discoveries, which ran counter to the established scientific view that life is controlled by the genes, presaged one of today’s most important fields of study, the science of epigenetics.
Two major scientific publications derived from these studies defined the molecular pathways connecting the mind and body. Many subsequent papers by other researchers have since validated his concepts and ideas.

This movie claims to show a link between “quantum biology” and our health/well-being. The movie categorically fails to deliver on that promise. There are no links to any published scientific research about “quantum biology” either on the DVD or the movie’s website (thelivingmatrixmovie.com).
There are some clinical studies in the movie, but none of them ever speculate about the mechanism behind the healing. The movie is implying, “We don’t understand how this works, therefore … quantum physics must be involved!” That’s not science; it’s speculation.
One scene in the movie shows a DVM claiming that direction shifts in flocks of birds are “instantaneous” (and, therefore, quantum physics *must* be involved). This is not only speculation, it’s bad speculation. Scientists have used high-speed photography to confirm that direction shifts in flocks are NOT instantaneous; they even describe how the individual birds coordinate the direction shifts in the flock.
I talk about this bad science in a small article: http://floatingbones.com/?p=171 . I’ve also posted a full review of the movie in http://floatingbones.com/?p=92 .
The truly disappointing thing is that many scientists are doing legitimate scientific research into all sorts of alternative health/healing modalities. This movie not only squandered an opportunity to speak of that real science; it has also tainted the entire discussion with its 90 minutes of speculation.
I give this movie zero stars.
